Abstract

In nowadays, fungal infections are assuming a greater importance, largely because of the vaginal candidiasis, are very frequent and their increasing indisseminated forms, in patients with immunedeficiencies, in cancer patients, in transplant recipients, and in other groups of debilitated individuals. TheCandida sp is capable of causing significant disease, especially unusual circumstances, mostly involving host debilitation, causing superficial, deep, andgraves systemics forms. Fortunately, new drugs have been developed, resulting is there now being a choice of treatment depending, to some extent, on theinfection and the underlying condition of the patient. As result, clinicians and microbiologists alike need to be familiar with the clinical presentation andmethods for the diagnosis, as well as the current treatment choices of the different manifestations of the fungal infections.
